Chapter 6: Marriage and Children In May 1994, Jackson married singer-songwriter Lisa Marie Presley, the daughter
of Elvis Presley. Of Lisa Marie, Michael said, "I really loved her very much. We even recorded some songs
together over several sessions. She still has the masters to those songs. Lisa, the tapes are yours to do with
as you please." When asked about his relationship with Elizabeth Taylor, he said, "It was never romantic, but a deep, deep friendship. She once said, 'We have the King of Rock, or Elvis, and the King of Pop, or Michael Jackson.' She had incredible compassion, and you have no idea of the things she has done for people. She is so generous, and could be so youthful. She loved Neverland, and she gave me an elephant for my birthday. That was the best gift ever, even though I was afraid of it at first." |
